Theatre play: Life's but a shadow 2
Scene 2
Trisha tries to piece together a puzzle but nothing seems to be making sense. She becomes more agitated and furious, like a bomb ready to explode if no answer is given. She feels a fatigue and reaches for the water only to drop it after opening as she can't take the image of what happened at the graveyard.
Meanwhile, Kendra enters the kitchen to drop some plates. She asks her mother-in-law of the lady and the lad. To her surprise, Trisha utters nothing in response to the question but murmurs in distress who are they, does Tom have a second family, why secrets, what's going on? Kendra cries in deep sorrow and anger, trying to figure out what's happening.
Kendra: Tom, Tom, T-o-m, Thomas... (her voice echos in deep distress). Where are you to drive this confusion? She shatters the waterglass to the wall (as she breathes heavily and takes of her wig. In a low tone). I wish you were here to explain yourself. (She sobs as she heads to the lounge where her friend is calling her from).
Jim is in the lounge, having his meal. Trisha invites Jim into the kitchen. Jim is their family driver. "I want you to tell me everything you know about the woman who came to the graveyard with her son. Everything," she says as she wipes tears from her face and wiping her nose.
Jim: Ma'am, oga swore that I utter no word concerning that.
With fury and anger, in a loud voice; "Just shut up!" Trisha replied.
Trisha: Do you even hear yourself? Tom is gone, dead... Jim (she begins to moan). All you can do is confide in me so I can solve the issue. Tom wasn't courageous enough to deal with this, help us. Was that his other wife?
Jim silencing Trisha. "Sssshhh walls have ears, Pam is a married woman; of course, Tom is not the husband. Sipho is a product of their good old days and as beings we cannot separate a child from his loved ones."
Trisha grasps another bottle of water, gulps it and gasps for air, afraid of losing her breath/soul. The news is way too much to take in. She loves Kendra and is not sure of how she will take the news knowing the two had no child.
Trisha: I need all there is to know about Pam.
Jim nods in agreement as he heads out to remove the car blocks Mrs Smith willing to take an exit.
Trisha soliloquizing as she walks in direction to her room, Tom, why all this? What have you done? You couldn't fix your mess, before leaving? What do you want me to tell Kendra? Son! (Her echos faint as she exits).
