Lost Identity

Identity is that which defines you. We can talk attitude & character, but identity surpasses all. It's more like your roots; where you came from & who you are. Do you have an identity, or you are just a wanderer/foreigner in your own space? Do you know who you are?
"Two years a slave. I lost my identity. Forgot I was a daughter of a King; princess Nnessy. More like Queen-Nnessy because I don't need solidification from a "Prince charming." This kind of ignorance affected me greatly."

Yeah, I'm born to serve but I'm also entitled to greatness too. I lost self... due to no's that came my way. I forgot that no's were my driving force of making a possibility of a yes. My dream to academics got shuttered, so did my utopian world, collapse. The time I had allocated to pursue my studies passed & I felt discouraged even to the point of trying. You know we always think once your grades are good; there are plenty opportunities out there for you. Well, that's not an obvious case. Life is a jigsaw.

Looking at my mates accomplishing 123 always came with its own joy. Happy that they made it; but I forgot I deserved better too. I lost zeal in things I loved doing (e.g taking photos) for it seemed like a waste of time. Everything seemed meaningless.

I reached a stage where applying was futile. Stupidity can cause you to be blind to many things. I allowed opportunities pass me by for I thought I had no right to them. Lost identity equals loss of particulars + opportunities relatively same as lost to entitlement.

Remember people with no identity are surviving in this world too. I'm grateful I discovered my status & am doing something about it. The absence of identity can cause you to be a slave in your own nation. Beg for rights that rightfully belong to you. It's an emotional cage/prison. Prisoner in your own space; funny right. Slavery at its max.

Today I challenge you to pick up your identity. Let go servitude & wear the glamourous crown. Walk, talk, eat... like a king/queen you are. Set principles. Love the self-defined you. Write at least five 'I AMs' e.g. I am wise. Declare them daily to yourself.

Be a citizen with an identity!!!

Thank you
