High School Saga (Part 1)
Crushed, broken, hurt... was all that summed me in a nutshell. Every atom of hope was shuttered. From being a genius, star, intelligent and bright kid to a nobody. Imagine, losing all that matters to you in a nanosecond, impossible right? Well, that's my ordeal.
Pardon my confusion; my name is Talent. I'm good at nothing, no skills; I'm just a multilingual if that counts of course. I'm just a nerd and a brainiac. I'm part of society's unfavoured sect for we have difficulties fitting in. The world has all kinds of fun which I fail adhering to. Focusing on the future or improving now is what I enjoy the most, also finding answers to how things function.
Show me your friends and I will show you who you are, never existed in my vocabulary. I had awesome friends always on the last row of the scoreboard in tests but always acing in life. Lemme introduce them, Ben and Peter. Being in different sects we always found a a way to bond and move on. The other day we went for a school research project together; their characteristics of mingling with people helped us finish our assignment in lesser time than expected. I call these two bud & buddy. On our way home, we stopped for ice creams since it was very hot.
Bud๐ What's the plan for tomorrow?
Me๐ Start working on the Science project.
Buddy๐ ๐๐๐ Do you ever think about anything else apart from books.
What's more important in life for a Grade 10 pupil, other than passing. If not books, what else can one think of.
Buddy๐ For crying out loud, it's weekend, why can't we do something fun.
The only way I can express fun is having a math problem solved or finding something new in Physics, jokes on me๐. Is Buddy ok or I'm just an alien in this planet.
Bud๐ I will come pick you tomorrow at 14:00hrs. No excuses.
Buddy nodded his head in agreement. Wait a minute, I'm Talent, I just don't do things, I'm formal; I first plan my schedule, then execute everything on my to do list, but lemme give my friends a chance...
Me๐ OK
Bud๐ Cool.
Buddy๐ Oh flip, its 15:15hrs. Let's hurry, I wanna watch today's match.
Buddy was no sporty, but he enjoyed watching cricket. Good heavens, we were just three blocks away from our street. Time had flown without us noticing for we were engrossed in our conversation. After bidding each other farewell, I realised that my mind was somewhere else. I started imaging about what the next day had in store for me, having one thought leading to another.
Stay tuned for part 2
