Quality Education
Education has grown to be an interesting topic of all times . It is part of the UN SDG and concern for every society. What may vary is the content taught and shared though it has to be of a quality. Education can be delivered in a classroom, online, in-person or through reading and how it's perceived and taken in determines its quality. To think of it, literally everything requires education.
When we think education, our imagination takes us through the four corners of a learning area (classroom); whereas education is the "knowledge acquired through learning or instruction" (WordWeb dictionary). What makes it quality is the way it is delivered.
If we can agree that everyone has the potential to succeed and master concepts, that's a step to quality education. This requires patience from the educators and a positive learning attitude from the pupils. Simplifying concepts by breaking them into iterations/sizable segments which are easier to take in, applying patience when teaching and using languages students are familiar with like the use of illustrations, examples & change in delivery language where necessary is a plus to achieving quality education. Use of diversified learning evironment (open space, classroom, outdoor activities, social media) and information transfer (peer-to-peer learning, guest tutors, research, presentation, library usage...) may lead to quality education too.
Appropriate time allocation is key, the longer the period the less concentration span there is. Educators ought to pay attention to their audience not ending up caught in the glimpse of sharing too much data. Once focus is lost, use of games/jokes can take away tension from your students. A five minute break either water break, fresh air or exiting the learning space has an effect to learners as it relieves tension. It is psychological. Once the break is over you'll be more or less on the same page. If information delivery is nearly impossible because the students are tired, use of questions and them responding can be an alternative to learning. Case studies and scenarios should be implemented at such times. I believe that the ability to think beyond, counteracting circumstances, obstacles and hardships is a result of quality education and if concepts cannot be explained to a 6-year-old we have a problem. Quality education entails relevant information too not a bunch of gibberish data. Words like can't and impossible should not exist for there's always a way around a concept, find it, devise it and produce quality.
Quality education is attainable, more attention is needed in our way of thinking inorder to counteract failure.
